The meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held in Bishkek on August 31 was widely covered by international and regional media. The main topics of the meeting, which took place within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, included the normalization of relations between the two countries, the continuation of the peace process, the expansion of economic and trade relations, and the implementation of the TRIPP project, APA reports.

Euronews, in its extensive material on the SCO summit held in Bishkek, also devoted special attention to the meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The publication presented the meeting as a new stage in the historical peace process of the two countries and wrote that the leaders discussed the next steps. Euronews also noted that Aliyev and Pashinyan discussed new trade and energy cooperation, as well as issues related to the TRIPP route.

The publication also presents the TRIPP project as one of the main results of the Washington summit and writes that the parties emphasized the importance of developing transport links along this route.

Thus, the main direction of the meeting was presented in the Iranian media as strengthening the peace process and developing economic cooperation, rather than political confrontation.
