"By refusing to finance the expansion of energy infrastructure capacity, Brussels has lost all legal grounds to have a say on where Central Europe, including Hungary, buys its natural gas," Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó said at the joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov in Budapest, APA reports.
Péter Szijjártó emphasized that both countries - Azerbaijan and Hungary - have benefited from this cooperation in terms of ensuring energy supply security and economic growth in recent years.
The minister called the diversification of energy sources and the attraction of new natural gas sources important and emphasized that Azerbaijan can represent a real alternative not only from the prospects of Hungary, but also from the prospects of Europ.
