The second day of the international conference on “The Role of Ports in Regional Connectivity and Strategic Cooperation,” held in Baku within the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), took place at the Baku International Sea Trade Port, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) told APA-Economics.
As part of the conference, technical sessions, a visit by participants to the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and a presentation of innovative and sustainable solutions implemented at the port were held.
A site tour on “Innovation in Action” was organized for the participants. The General Cargo and Ro-Ro terminals of Baku Port were inspected, and the operation of the port's digital management and security systems was demonstrated. Participants were also given an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the activities of the Port Control Room and the Unified Access Center.
An interactive session with the management of Baku Port was then organized. During the session, views were exchanged on the port's activities, development prospects, and role in the regional transport and logistics system.
Another session on “Green Port” was held in the next part of the event. During the session, general information about Baku Port was presented, and participants were informed about the implementation of the “Green Transport” and “Green Port” concepts, as well as the work being carried out to enhance sustainable logistics and environmental efficiency.
