An event area covering a total of 1.5 million square meters has been prepared in Antalya, Türkiye, for COP31, Ahmet Sami Kulaklıoğlu, Head of the Support Services Department at Türkiye's Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, said during a "COP31 Logistics Briefing" held as part of Baku Climate Action Week 2026, APA reports.
He said the Blue Zone and Green Zone at the COP31 venue will be located within a single site:
"The COP31 site itself covers a total area of 1.1 million square meters. Approximately 527,000 square meters will be allocated to the Blue Zone and 582,000 square meters to the Green Zone. Together with landscaping of the surrounding areas and parking facilities, the total area reaches 1.5 million square meters," he said.
According to the ministry official, a separate VIP entrance will be provided for the Leaders' Summit to be held on November 11-12 as part of COP31: "Only leaders and their three-member delegations will be able to use the VIP entrance. From the entrance, they will proceed to the reception point and then to the VIP lounge," he said.
The ministry official emphasized that Antalya has extensive capacity to accommodate COP31 participants.
