Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney signed a 100-year partnership to improve the two countries' cooperation in the fields of defense, energy, technology, and trade, APA reports.
"Together, we will build the capabilities our militaries need, create good jobs at home, support Ukraine on the battlefield, and strengthen the sovereignty of both our nations," Carney said, while Zelenskyy thanked the Canada, noting that Ukraine needs "strong friends."
The two countries agreed to jointly produce uncrewed systems and develop counter-drone technologies and munitions. Canada also agreed to give Ukraine a $350 million equipment package of air defense interceptors through the United States' Joint Ukraine Multinational Program - Services, Training and Articles Rapid Timeline, as well as to provide over $430 million in loan guarantees for Ukraine's citizens to be able to buy gas during winter.
