"We consider supporting the restoration and development of Azerbaijan's liberated territories a priority," Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan Kim Kwang-jae said at a conference titled "Promoting Global Solidarity through Cooperation for Humanitarian Support and Development," dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency, APA reports.
He said the Republic of Korea considers support for the restoration and development of Azerbaijan's liberated territories, including East Zangezur and Karabakh, a priority.
The ambassador noted that a new project by the Azerbaijan office of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to restore kahriz systems in these regions is expected to begin this year.
"The project, which will be implemented in cooperation with the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, will continue until 2030. I hope that this project will be successfully implemented," the ambassador said.
