Human rights commissioner (ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva responded to baseless claims published on some websites in Armenia, APA reports citing the press service of the Ombudsman Office.
As reported, the ombudsman studied the status of ensuring the rights of those persons according to international and national legislation and listened to their appeals while confidentially receiving Alen Sargsyan, Vahe Hovsepyan and Levon Grigoryan, who were detained at the Lachin border crossing point and were administratively detained for 10 days. At the same time, the cell where they were kept and the picnic area were inspected, and it was determined that the conditions is in accordance with the standards.
The admitted persons expressed their satisfaction with the conditions of detention, their treatment, nutrition, as well as medical and psychological assistance. During the visit, telephone conversations with the family members of those persons were also ensured. All this is a clear example of the humanitarian policy implemented by the Azerbaijani state.
"The websites in the Armenian segment are using A. Sargsyan's arm, which was received during the visit and as he himself stated, against the humanitarian policy of Azerbaijan, based on the injury he suffered while working with his father on his private family farm in February of this year.
The fact that the mark on his arm happened a long time ago is more obvious from the photo.
In this regard, the clear sharing of information about detained persons confirms the transparency of the activity once again.
Unfortunately, Armenia, as always, purposefully continues the policy of Azerbaijanophobia, and continues to create an atmosphere of intolerance by circulating false information.
"For the sake of establishing peace in the region, the Armenian side should give up its policy of promoting hatred against Azerbaijanis, and relevant international organizations should take necessary measures to prevent this policy, which is against the basic principles of human rights," Sabina Aliyeva stressed.
