U.S. Energy Secretary: â€œBaku Energy Summit is the continuation of â€œThe Contract of Centuryâ€ signed in 1994â€

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. U.S. Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman addressed the Energy Summit in Baku, APA reports. Samuel Bodman said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was pursuing successful policy in terms of energy security and expressed his gratitude to him. He underlined that energy security was an important issue for the world.
â€œI think the energy summit in Baku will be efficient and productive enough. I consider that this summit is the continuation of the â€œContract of the Centuryâ€ signed in 1994. A number of countries are developing economically, while some others are going into a recession. Therefore supply of the world countries with energy resources is very important. In my opinion the new US administration will decisively continue energy cooperation with the countries of the region. We attach great importance to the cooperation with this region,â€ he said.
Samuel Bodman said the United States was persistent in working with Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia.
