Mikhail Saakashvili: â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s achievements may serve as an example to everybodyâ€

Azerbaijanâ€™s achievements may serve as an example to everybody,â€ said Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili addressing the Energy Summit in Baku, APA reports. He said occupation of a part of Georgiaâ€™s territory by Russia caused damage to the country, bridges, railways, ports were harmed.
â€œWe are not against the cooperation with Russia. Development and implementation of alternative energy projects is very important. Work should continue on Odessa-Brodi project. Once no one believed that Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline would be realized. But this great project was realized. I think cooperation in energy security should be continued with the European Union,â€ he said.

Mikhail Saakashvili also mentioned that Azerbaijan offered assistance to Georgia when the country faced energy problem in January, 2006.
â€œI will never forget it,â€ he said.
