Azerbaijani Prime Minister attends CIS heads of governments meeting in Chisinau

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. The next meeting of CIS Council of heads of governments is being held in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. Press service of Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers told APA that Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh left for Kishinev on November 13 to attend the meeting.

35 issues have been included into the agenda of the meeting. These are CIS economic development strategy and priorities if the Commonwealth countries’ transport cooperation by 2020, joint efforts for increasing food safety, development of the international motor transport services market, cooperation in establishing state information systems on passport-visa documents, cooperation in combating turnover of counterfeit medicines, draft convention on the legal status of labour migrants and their families.

The official delegations and experts will join the council’s meeting later. Press conference will be held after the meeting, Moldova’s President Vladimir Voronin will receive the heads of the delegations. The heads of governments will also have bilateral meetings.

Press service of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers reports that Prime Minister Yuliya Tymoshenko and Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh will have a meeting.

Moldova will take over CIS chairmanship on January 1, 2009. The next summit of CIS will be held in Chisinau on October 9, 2009.
