Program of the UN Security Council under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan announced

Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN Agshin Mehdiyev told journalists that presenting the work program of the Council in May. In May, Azerbaijan is the chairman of the UN Security Council.

He reported that on 10 May in the afternoon, the Security Council will be hold a briefing on Libya. Council members heard a report on the implementation of its resolution 1970, which among other things, "the Libyan dossier" was transferred to the International Criminal Court. On the investigation of Libyan business members of the Board will report to the ICC prosecutor.

May 14th will be a meeting on Kosovo, and May 15 - on Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the same day, scheduled consultations on Somalia.

Traditionally, the Council will hold a briefing on the Middle East. He is scheduled for May 29. On the same day will be consulted on Yemen.

In the second half of May will visit members of the Security Council in West Africa. The Board received an invitation from Turkey to be held in May in this country his retreat. This is the seventh such an invitation.

Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan expressed his hope that the Council will preserve the unity of Syria by supporting Kofi Annanâ€™s plan for a six-point. He said that in May, is expected to brief the Council, Kofi Annan.
