Samad Seyidov: â€œAzerbaijan is interested in the visit of PACE rapporteur on political prisoners Christoph Strasser under the mandate given to himâ€

Seyidov said that despite the Committee on Legal Affairs gave mandate to the rapporteur to prepare new report, Strasser is still intending to search political prisoner problem in Azerbaijan: â€œIt is not corresponding with his mandate. The discussion of the above-mentioned issue will be continued at the meeting of the PACE Committee on Legal Affairs in Paris this month. We are ready to receive the rapporteur. Not only Azerbaijani side must show constructive position on this issue, but the rapporteur also must observe the principal propositions of the Council of Europeâ€.

Samad Seyidov commented the Christoph Strasserâ€™s call on his blog to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. He said that it shows his biased position toward Azerbaijan: â€œWhat relation has the Eurovision contest to the issues, which are discussed by the Council of Europe?â€
