Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. The problem of Russian citizens, residents of Khrakhoba and Uryanoba villages of Azerbaijan, was solved. APA reports quoting the Russian embassy in Baku that Russian citizens resided in Azerbaijan’s Khrakhoba left the village in middle of April. “The delicate humanitarian situation in those villages was solved in civil form. This is a sign of friendly neighborhood relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. Russian president instructed to solve material problems of the settlers from Khrakhoba to Dagestan”.

Following the state border treaty signing between Azerbaijan and Russia in September 2010, the status of residents of Khrakhoba and Uryanoba villages, being the residents of Dagestan’s Maharramkand and Akhti by birth, came to agenda. The government of Azerbaijan offered the villagers to receive Azerbaijani citizenship by saving the Russian citizenship as well. Uryanoba residents accepted this proposal and legalized their life and activity in the territory of Azerbaijan, but Khrakhoba residents decided to move to Dagestan. The movement was realized in terms of cooperation between the government of Azerbaijan, Russian embassy and Dagestan authorities.
