Ganira Pashayeva: Most part of the refugees and IDPâ€™s in the area of CE are Azerbaijan and Georgia

During the debate, Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Ganira Pashayeva delivered speech, APA reports.

G.Pasayeva noted that the Azerbaijanis directly familiar with the hardships and problems of forced migrants. â€œAzerbaijan, where every ninth inhabitant of a refugee or displaced person, the number of refugees is a unique country in Europe and the world. As a member of the Azerbaijani delegation, I more than others familiar with the difficulties faced by IDPs Server Caucasianâ€, she said.

G.Pasayeva stressed that the situation of refugees and internally displaced people in the South Caucasus more a tragic than severokavkazkom region. â€œToday, most part of the refugees and IDPâ€™s in the CE space are in the South Caucasus are Azerbaijan and Georgia. More than one third of all refugees in Europe are located in Azerbaijan. As a result, more than 20 years of ongoing Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani hundreds of thousands of refugees can not return to their native towns and villagesâ€, - she said.

Pashayeva reminded that in May, will pass 20 years since the occupation of Azerbaijani towns of Shusha and Lachin. â€œFor 20 years, Shusha, Lachin, the population of the occupied cities can not return to their native towns and villages. This is the biggest violation of human rights in Europeâ€.

She offered to remember when was the last time in the PACE discussed the issue. Have realized adopted on this decision? Results are still there. â€œIn the PACE adopted Resolution 1416 says that Armenia must withdraw its troops from the occupied territories and create conditions for the return of Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs. Since the adoption of the resolution was 9 years old, but Armenia still ignores the implementation of this resolutionâ€, - she said.

Azerbaijani MP presented the session handling of refugees and internally displaced persons. In her address the need PACE efforts to implement resolution 1416. "I urge the PACE in the near future to discuss the situation of refugees in the South Caucasus. Because no matter where refugees and internally displaced persons, we should pay more attention to this matter and give them a helping hand", - she said.
