Vice-Speaker of Georgian parliament: Georgia has always supported Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity and always feels support of Azerbaijan

All our citizens live at peace and in stability in Georgia. Some attempt to violate this stability. This is a provocation,â€ Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Levan Vepkhvadze told journalists, APAâ€™s Georgia bureau reports. He said the aim of the parties functioning in the country must be to establish friendly contacts among peoples.

â€œThe incident that happened in the Georgian parliament today is a provocation. We have got a number of problems related to the past, but speaking about them may damage Georgiaâ€™s sovereignty, territorial integrity, statehood. I think those who have raised the â€œgenocideâ€ issue have small intentions,â€ he said.

Levan Vepkhvadze said the action of the Georgian Group Party, parliamentarian Jondi Bagaturia will not remain unpunished.
â€œSuch parliamentarians will be punished in the elections. The people will simply not vote for them. We do not have sanctions, people must express their protest against it,â€ he said.

Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament underlined that Azerbaijan has always supported Georgia.

â€œWe have much in common with Azerbaijan. Georgia has always supported Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity and always feels support of Azerbaijan.
We are also cooperating with Azerbaijan within the international organizations. We are grateful to Azerbaijan for supporting us when the declaration on ethnic cleansing was adopted at the UN,â€ he said.
