PACE Monitoring Committee adopts document on Azerbaijan

APA reports that the Committee discussed fulfillment of Azerbaijan’s commitments and duties and adopted document on it. Member of PACE Monitoring Committee Elkhan Suleymanov also participated in the meeting.
Member of Azerbaijani Parliament said that co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee Pedro Agramunt and Joseph Debono Grech visited Azerbaijan for fact-finding mission from January 31 till February 2. During the visit the co-rapporteurs held a series of meetings, prepared informative note and presented it to the Monitoring Committee.
Suleymanov noted that such reports and Committee hearing on them were general practice. These documents, which are based on fact-finding missions of the co-rapporteurs, have a report character and then they make a final report on basis of these documents. Suleymanov assessed the informative note as the document reflecting current opinions in Azerbaijani society and said that in document the co-rapporteurs expressed concern over concrete issues and tried to show the progresses achieved in these spheres up to now. They also underlined the necessity to hold discussions with the government agencies about probable measures which will be taken for improving the situation.
