Azerbaijani Parliament issues statement on Colombian Parliamentâ€™s resolution condemning the occupation policy of Armenia

Press service of the parliament told APA that the statement reads: â€œOn March 28, the 2nd Colombia Senateâ€™s Constitutional Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and National Defense passed a resolution condemning illegal occupation of the lands of the Republic of Azerbaijan by Armenia and recognizing Khojaly tragedy as genocide. The document was put to vote by Committeeâ€™s Chairwoman Senator Alexandra Moreno Piraquive. After approval by members of the committee, the draft was submitted to the Senateâ€™s plenary session and unanimously approved. The document unanimously says that Columbia doesnâ€™t recognize the illegal military occupation of Nagorno Karabakh and 7 other regions of Azerbaijan by Armenia, it condemns torture and violence committed against peaceful people, especially in Khojaly genocide and calls Armenia to fulfill the resolutions 822, 853, 874 and 884 of the UN Security Council.
