Speaker of Azerbaijani parliament Ogtay Asadov meets with President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski

Noting that there is effective cooperation between the Azerbaijani parliament and Sejm of Poland within the framework of the European Unionâ€™s Twinning program, speaker underlined that the two bodies also extended relations within the international organizations.

Ogtay Asadov said Nagorno Karabakh problem is the source of major tension in the region and added that the conflict impedes political, economic development of the region, its integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures.
â€œWe want the problem to be solved in line with the international law, within the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity. We believe that this problem will be solved in the short run with the support of the international community, including Poland,â€ he said.

President of Poland said enhancement of the relations between Baku and Warsaw is the requirement of the day. Bronislaw Komorowski said Poland is interested in extending cooperation with Azerbaijan not only in the sphere of energy, but also in non-oil sector.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects of mutual relations, ways of solution of regional conflicts, enhancement of the interparliamentary cooperation and issues of mutual interest.
