Araz Azimov: Azerbaijan is concerned about the presence of the Russian servicemen in Armenia

Baku – APA. “Azerbaijan is concerned about the presence of the Russian servicemen in Armenia,†Araz Azimov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, President’s special representative on Nagorno Karabakh conflict, said in his interview to Ekho Moskvi radio, APA reports. He considers that Russia should switch from the concept of militarist presence to the concept of economic presence in the South Caucasus.
“Unfortunately, Russia considers it necessary to deploy armed forces in Armenia. We see fewer and fewer reasons for such militarist presence in the South Caucasus. It is high time to replace the tanks with tankers, the form of military presence to the economic presence,†he said.
Araz Azimov said that it is in the interests of Russia to persuade Armenia of accepting the constructive proposals made in the process of negotiations.
