Baku – APA. “I will not reveal a big secret if I say that the project of basic principles starts with words “Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents decided to start a work on peace treaty”, then the principles which we are trying to coordinate and which will enter to the peace treaty are enumerated. There Not all of these principles are used by consensus”, said Russian Foreign Minster Sergey Lavrov at the press conference jointly held with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov. He said that according to the co-chairs’ opinion, the coordination of this political document is very important for further work on peace treaty: “This document has a considerable number of cases which will enter to the agreement. But there are several other cases – though their number is very little, they have the decisive significance. The work is being conducted on these cases”.

Mammadyarov said that it is needed to continue the discussion of the problem without any hysterics: “The principles which are being discussed now are really a political document and do not include the legal obligations. I consider that we must start the discussion of peace treaty. The time is right for it”.

Mammadyarov delivered Azerbaijani president’s response to the Russian president during his visit to Moscow.
