Azerbaijan and Russia sign action plan of â€œConsultations between the foreign ministries for the second half of 2011 and 2012â€

Press service of the Foreign Ministry told APA that Elmar Mammadyarov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. It was noted that the economic relations between the two countries developed, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia reached the pre-financial crisis level, International Humanitarian Forum that will be held in Baku in October was also discussed during the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the two countries signed an action plan of the â€œConsultations between the foreign ministries for the second half of 2011 and 2012â€ and protocol on the exchange of the Ratification Decrees of the â€œTreaty between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Russian Federation on the state borderâ€ signed on September 3, 2010.

Press conference was held after the meeting. Elmar Mammadyarov told media representatives that the letter of Azerbaijani President was handed over to Sergei Lavrov. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister highly appreciated the mediation of Russia in Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The killing of 13-year-old Aygun Shahmaliyeva by Armenians in Alibeyli village of Azerbaijanâ€™s Tovuz region was condemned.
