Researcher Fuad Safarov: â€œDismantling of Andranikâ€™s monument in Sochi is our common successâ€

Safarov, who observed the activity of Armenian lobby and various lobby organizations in Russia, underlined that the initiative on erection of Andranikâ€™s monument can overshadow Russia-Turkey and Russia-Azerbaijan relations. The researcher said that the initiative of erection the monument to Armenian torturer in Sochi belonged to this cityâ€™s Armenian community. Reminding about his publications about Andranikâ€™s personality published by the Turkish press, Safarov said that there is lack of information among the public community about this personâ€™s bloody actions. Safarov said that due to the work directly conducted by the Russian governmental organizations Andranikâ€™s monument in Sochi was dismantled next day after its erection: â€œMoscowâ€™s decision was decisive hereâ€.

The researcher also said that unlikely the Armenian side will leave its provocative initiatives. Thus the Armenian Diaspora tries to erect a monument in Moscow on eve of 100 years of the so-called â€œArmenian genocideâ€ in 2015. According to him, the Armenians intend to hold the range of events over the world on the eve of â€œ100 yearsâ€ and Azerbaijan and Turkey must join efforts for prevention of all these actions.
