National security official: â€œIt is necessary to take international measures for prevention of foreign serversâ€™ resources supporting terrorismâ€

Victoria Dementieva â€“ APA. â€œVirtual law infringements have become more frequent recentlyâ€, said head of department at the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan Kerim Kerimov in his report on cyber threats and cybercrime control at the conference entitled â€œCyber and National Security: NATO Policy and National Visionâ€. According to APA, the national security official spoke about the more frequent virtual law infringements. â€œThese law infringements include dangerous programs, DOS-attacks, spread of disinformation, pornographic materials via Internet, launching the websites, which support terrorism and other crimesâ€.
Kerim Kerimov also expressed concern over the false information spread via Internet about Azerbaijan. â€œThere are facts of false information about Azerbaijan on e-encyclopedias such as Wikipedia and we are seriously concerned about that. These facts negatively effect on the international image of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani people. We will make certain steps against such cases.â€
The department chief of the National Security Ministry also mentioned the problem of pornographic materials and terrorism websites on Internet. â€œThese websites are banned, but they appear in the foreign servers. Such problems should be addressed comprehensively. The Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan is intensively working together with other government agencies and private sector to organize cyber crime controlâ€.
