Azerbaijan-Russia relations have been fully normalized, President Ilham Aliyev said while answering a question on relations with Russia at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, APA reports.
"I would like to reiterate that we attach great importance to our relations with Russia. We have also seen the statements by officials of the Russian Federation, including President Putin, regarding the positive development of relations between our countries. You mentioned certain difficulties. Yes, we are aware of all of them. However, the main thing is that this stage is now behind us. I would say that the relations have been fully normalized. Contacts at various levels continue. There is active engagement at the government level, between the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission, through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as between the presidential administrations. In this regard, I believe everything is developing normally, and we are satisfied with it. Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are of great importance both for bilateral cooperation and for the wider region. These relations cover both traditional areas of cooperation and new directions that may emerge in the future. Transport issues are of particular importance here. Trade and humanitarian cooperation are also among the key areas," the head of state noted.
