PACE co-rapporteur Andres Herkel: â€œWe suppose the report on Azerbaijan will be ready in Julyâ€

Ganja. Aykhan Huseynov â€“ APA. PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan and Andres Herkel, who is visiting Ganja, met with head of the executive power Eldar Azizov, APAâ€™s west bureau reports.
â€œGanja is an ancient city having majestic history. Therefore, we decided to visit this city. We have met with head of Ganja executive power Eldar Azizov. Tomorrow we will meet with the representatives of nongovernmental organizations, civil society and opposition parties. We will publicize the results of our visit at the press conference,â€ Andres Herkel told journalists.

Andres Herkel said they suppose the report on Azerbaijan will be ready in July.
â€œThe document will cover the countryâ€™s development and current problems. If you want to know my personal opinion, I see problems in the field of freedom of media, the report will also cover other problems,â€ he said.

Following the meeting, Andres Herkel visited Nizami Ganjaviâ€™s mausoleum. Today he will also visit detention facility #2, Prosecutorâ€™s Office and Appeals Court.
