Ebola death toll in DR Congo rises to 625

The number of laboratory-confirmed deaths from the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has increased by another 25 over the past 24 hours, reaching 625, APA reports, citing the country's Ministry of Communication and Media.

According to the information, the total number of Ebola cases has increased by 33 over the past 24 hours to 1,792.

It was reported that the current fatality rate stands at 34.9%.

Note that the latest Ebola outbreak began on May 15 this year in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.

The epicenter of the outbreak is Ituri Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
