Administrative arrest will be imposed for repeated participation in gambling activities, APA reports.
This is reflected in the proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses discussed at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the law, participation in gambling activities, namely gambling, is punishable by a fine of 3,000 manats, with the confiscation of gambling equipment, as well as money or other property wagered in gambling, winnings, prizes, or other income obtained.
According to the draft, if the offense is committed repeatedly within one year from the date the decision imposing an administrative penalty enters into force, by a person who has already been subjected to an administrative penalty for the offense in question, gambling equipment, as well as money or other property wagered in gambling, winnings, prizes, or other income obtained will be confiscated, and the offender will be fined 5,000 manats or, depending on the circumstances of the case and taking into account the personality of the offender, subjected to administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
