Russia is facing a fuel shortage on its domestic market, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

According to him, the shortage has emerged because oil refineries have been partially put out of operation due to drone attacks.

Novak said the authorities are doing everything possible to strengthen the protection of oil refineries.

"The government is doing everything possible to ensure the utilization of refinery capacity and maintain sufficient production. Russia has enough fuel refining capacity. The authorities intend to ensure additional fuel supplies to the regions. The ban on gasoline and diesel exports from Russia is necessary to stabilize the fuel situation and ensure supplies to the domestic market.

Some sellers are taking advantage of the situation in Russia's fuel market to make additional profits and raise prices. The Federal Antimonopoly Service should closely monitor fuel prices," he said.
