Kyiv is not in favor of the peace process, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, Russia remains open to achieving its goals through diplomatic negotiations: "Moscow is open to a peaceful settlement, but since this is impossible due to Kyiv's unwillingness, Russia continues its special military operation," he said.
Asked whether the United States was prepared to pressure Ukraine to stop attacks on Russian infrastructure, Peskov recommended directing the question to the White House.
The Kremlin spokesman accused Ukraine of "stepping up terrorist activities against the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant."
He stated that this is extremely dangerous and unacceptable: "Kyiv is carrying out strikes both against the infrastructure of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and civilian facilities around it. Russia remains in constant contact with the IAEA regarding the situation around the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant."
Peskov also noted that contacts on dialogue between Russia and the United States are continuing and that President Vladimir Putin will hold an operational meeting of the Security Council later today.
