German Chancellor: â€œAzerbaijan is an important partner for Germanyâ€

German Canceller Angela Merkel expressed her pleasure for greeting Azerbaijani President again in Germany. Stressing the high level economic relations between two countries, she underlined significance of using current potential for expanding cooperation in this field.

German Chancellor noted that Azerbaijan, famous for its oil and gas abroad, is an important partner for Germany and highlighted its readiness to support Azerbaijan in various fields.

Expressing his gratitude for the invitation, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted that relations between countries have increasingly improved, since his last visit to Germany three years ago. Head of state noted that political relations were on high level and economic cooperation was expanding.

President Ilham Aliyev said there was a great need for German technology in Azerbaijan, living in a modernization age, adding that there are nearly 100 German companies running Azerbaijan. President said Azerbaijan is ready to make vital contribution to the solution of European energy security issues.

President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan joined the European Unionâ€™s (EU) â€œEastern Partnershipâ€ program and it opened great opportunity for our country to carry out wide reforms in different fields.
