OIC Parliamentary Union recognizes Khojaly tragedy as a crime against humanity â€“ <font color=red> PHOTOSESSION </font>

Chairmen and members of the parliaments of 51 countries attended the Unionâ€™s 6th session in Kampala, Uganda. The conference adopted resolution on cooperation between OIC Youth Forum and Parliamentary Union on the initiative of the Youth Forum. The resolution adopted within the international campaign â€œJustice for Khojalyâ€ declared by the senior coordinator of the Islamic Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (IYFDC) Leila Aliyeva called the Khojaly tragedy as a massacre of peaceful population by the Armenian military forces and crime against humanity. The resolution expressed full support to the international campaign â€œJustice for Khojalyâ€ and called on the parliaments of 51 member countries to recognize the tragedy as a crime against humanity and to support the campaign at the national and international levels.

IYFDC secretary general ambassador Elshad Isgandarov said the resolution was the first documents recognized Khojaly tragedy as a crime against humanity. â€œIf taken into consideration that OIC Parliamentary Union unites fourth of the world parliaments and is one of the larges inter-parliamentary organizations, the above-mentioned expression will open new phase in the recognition of Khojaly tragedy as a part of genocide policy committed by the Armenian nationalists against the Azerbaijani people and bringing those who committed this crime into justiceâ€.

The idea of resolution was put forward by the IYFDC senior coordinator Leila Aliyeva at the meeting of the campaign national coordinators in Baku last year. The campaign â€œJustice for Khojalyâ€ was launched in February, 2008 and is successfully developing in more than 30 countries by hundreds of volunteers.
