Ratification of protocols signed with Turkey not included in agenda of Armenian parliamentâ€™s spring session

According to Petrosyan, the protocols are in the Presidentâ€™s Office and they have not been sent to parliament yet.

Note that Armenian Constitutional Court has passed decision which approves that protocols signed between Turkey and Armenia is not contrary to the Constitution of the country. According to the decision of Armenian Constitutional Court, the protocols cannot be commented on contradicting to the preamble of Armenian Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Armenian Declaration of Independence contains territorial claims against Turkey and calls this countryâ€™s eastern provinces â€œWestern Armeniaâ€. Moreover, the declaration says that the international recognition of â€œArmenian genocideâ€ is the duty of Armenian state. Turkey protested this decision and said it was contrary to the protocols.
