Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities will hold its 18th Plenary Session in Strasbourg (France) from 17 to 19 March 2010.
On the agenda are debates on territorial democracy in Iceland, Portugal, Switzerland and Albania, as well as one on the observation of the municipal elections held in Azerbaijan on December 2009. Among personalities invited to address the Session are, in particular, Thorbjorn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Micheline Calmy-Rey, President of the Committee of Ministers for Switzerland, Gerhard Stahl, Secretary General of the EU Committee of Regions, as well as Mevlüt Çavusoglu, new President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly.
