Azerbaijani parliamentarians meet with representatives of U.S. Department of State

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. Azerbaijani parliamentarians Ganira Pashayeva and Zahid Oruj, who are visiting US, met with the representatives of the Department of State. Zahid Oruj told APA that they held discussions with the assistant secretary of state at the bureau for European and Asian affairs and Ethan Goldrich, Director of the Office of Caucasus Affairs and Regional Conflicts of the U.S. Department of State. Zahid Oruj said they had informed about Azerbaijanâ€™s position in the South Caucasus and spoken about the US-Azerbaijan relations.
â€œWe also said that the recent aid of the US to the Nagorno Karabakh caused serious concerns in Azerbaijan. They said the note would be answered in a few days. It was noted that the position of the US had not changed concerning the recognition of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity. It was also noted that the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno Karabakh would be taken into consideration while offering aids in future. We said that it should be noted inside the aids offered to Azerbaijan. It was said that the Congress should continue work in this direction,â€ he said.

Zahid Oruj said the recent meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents mediated by Russia was also discussed at the meeting.
â€œThey said they did not concern about the activeness of Russia, the US was also functioning in the Minsk Group. They said more important representatives would be sent to the region soon,â€ he said.
