Elmar Mammadyarov receives U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman

Azerbaijanâ€™s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation led by the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman, Foreign Ministryâ€™s press service told APA. Daniel Poneman said that Azerbaijan and the US have broad relations and underlined the long-lasting successful energy cooperation between the two countries. He also said global energy security is one of the priorities of the US foreign policy and noted that his country supports diversification in the delivery of energy resources to the world markets.
Foreign Minster Elmar Mammadyarov appreciated energy cooperation between the two countries, said Azerbaijan is located in an important geographical area, is the exporter of energy resources and underlined its transit opportunities. Drawing attention to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict Elmar Mammadyarov noted the importance of solving the conflict within the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity to establish sustainable and long-lasting peace in the region.
The sides exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest.
