The Italian Government has decided to expel two military attachés from the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Italy, who are responsible for the espionage activities uncovered in the investigation conducted by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in a post on X, APA reports.
He stated that the Secretary General of the Farnesina has informed the Russian Ambassador in Rome that Ivan Petrovich Gorbachev and Mikhail Vasilyevich Astakhov must leave Rome within three days.
"Moscow continues to use its hybrid weapons to attack the West and Italy. This is a serious and unacceptable interference in the Italian institutions and national security," Tajani said.
