US President Donald Trump was busy yesterday and did not call Russian President Vladimir Putin, but the Russian president is always glad to talk, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, a constructive dialogue has been established between Putin and Trump.
Peskov said the Kremlin sees a misconception, not escalation, in Trump's remarks about Kyiv's strikes on the Russian Federation.
He noted that Trump's statement on closing Ukrainian airspace is new, and no one had previously discussed this issue: "The US continues to actively supply weapons to Kyiv, Russia is well aware of this and does not wear rose-colored glasses. Russia sees a certain duality in the US position, which continues to supply weapons to Kyiv and, at the same time, continues its efforts to facilitate the peace process."
At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman said Russia considers the US desire to facilitate the peace process in Ukraine sincere and welcomes it.
