Ukraine's Defense Forces have announced that they carried out strikes on several key targets overnight into July 9 in order to weaken Russia's military and military-economic potential, APA reports, citing the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the statement, 12 Russian tankers, one tugboat, and one dry cargo vessel were struck in the Sea of Azov.

It was stated that the vessels had been used to supply Russian troops with fuel and lubricants, as well as to transport oil and petroleum products while circumventing international sanctions. According to the Ukrainian side, these vessels play an important role in financing Russia's war against Ukraine by facilitating the export of energy resources.

The Ukrainian side also stated that the Yug Rusi oil terminal located in the city of Bataysk in Russia's Rostov region was struck.

According to the information, a fire broke out on the terminal's premises. It was noted that the facility is used both for the export of petroleum products and for supplying fuel to Russian forces operating in the southern direction.

In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that they had struck an ammunition depot belonging to Russian forces near the Sorokino district of the Luhansk region.
