Iran's former Supreme Leader will be buried today, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
The aircraft carrying the body of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei and his family members landed a short while ago at Shahid Hashemi Nejad Airport in the city of Mashhad.
The Organizing Committee for Ayatollah Khamenei's funeral said that the transfer of the body to Mashhad was delayed due to the large crowds attending the farewell and funeral ceremonies in Iraq, particularly in Najaf and Karbala.
Therefore, the reception and funeral ceremony will begin today at 14:00, rather than at 08:00 as previously scheduled.
Note that Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei's funeral will be held today in the city of Mashhad, and his body will be laid to rest in the precincts of the Imam Reza shrine.
