President of Slovenia Danilo Turk to pay official visit to Azerbaijan in November

Political consultations between the two countries should be strengthened,â€ President of Slovenia Danilo Turk said at the briefing held within the framework of PACE session, APAâ€™s correspondent accredited in the Council of Europe reports. He said he will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in November.
â€œI will be pleased to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. I met with him in the UN. I appreciate his wisdom and political views. We want to strengthen political consultations between the two countries. I want the agenda of my visit to cover Azerbaijanâ€™s important partnership for the European Union in energy security and common security issues.

I think Azerbaijan may play a very constructive role in this sphere and in the maintenance of peace agreements. I want to improve this potential. I am pleased that I will visit Azerbaijan,â€ he said.

Danilo Turk said he will hold discussions on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
â€œMy visit also covers the discussion on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We see progress in this field. One should have positive approach to the normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations and understand that Turkeyâ€™s policy with respect to Armenia will make positive contribution. It will pave the way for the efforts to solve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,â€ he said.
