Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. Roundtable on the “Geopolitical factors impact on Azerbaijan’s energy strategy in the extended Black Sea-Caspian region” was held on Tuesday at the Strategic Research Center under the President of Azerbaijan. Robert Cutler, Senior Research Fellow, Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at the Canada’s Carleton University made report at the roundtable, APA reports. He spoke about the prospects of European foreign policy and Azerbaijan’s energy policy and said Azerbaijan played an important role in the European energy structure. He urged for strengthening of EU policy in the Caucasian region for the development of its relations with the regional countries. Cutler appreciated the Nabucco chance as a higher one, but ruled out Iran’s participation in it. He said lack of business atmosphere and transparency in Iran prevented it to join this project.
