Recep Tayyip Erdogan: â€œWe demand Obama to accelerate Minsk Groupâ€™s activityâ€

Baku â€“ APA. â€œWe demand Mr. Obama to accelerate the Minsk Groupâ€™s activity. They promised to be more attentive to this issue, to accelerate and intensify the groupâ€™s activity. I talked with Dmitriy Medvedev about this issue and told him same. If the Minsk trio accelerates the process, I believe they will achieve results soon. If the problem between Azerbaijan and Armenia is solved, it will ease the Turkeyâ€™s activity as well. If the issue is solved, we can easy decide on the Turkish-Armenian relationsâ€, said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a briefing in New York, APA reports quoting CNN Turk.

The Turkish Prime Minister said the president of his country visited Armenia for watching football match without any pre-condition. â€œOur president visited Armenia to watch football without any pre-condition. He didnâ€™t say â€œIf you do that, I will comeâ€. He went and watched the football match. But now Mr. Sargsyan says that â€œif the gate is opened, he will watch the matchâ€. It shows that Sargsyan makes messages for only his country. We allowed Yerevan-Istanbul flights. It is a sign of our good intention. We restored the Armenian Church in Akdamar in the territory of Van Lake. We donâ€™t make pre-conditions and claims. Armenians in Turkey have no problem. There are illegal Armenian migrants, even fugitives in Turkey, but we donâ€™t send them homeâ€.

The Prime Minister said five issues were on the agenda of Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations. â€œIt is not difficult to solve even the disputed issues. There are issues related to some regions and I believe that they will be solved as well. I think the Nagorno Karabakh problem will be solved after their solution. The Minsk Group needs to accelerate its activity. If they say â€œwe want to solve this issueâ€, the problem will be solvedâ€.
