Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discuss Nagorno Karabakh conflict

They exchanged views on all aspects of Azerbaijan-US cooperation, Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and other regional issues.

The sides expressed their satisfaction with the level of the relations.

Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict was mainly discussed during the meeting. Hillary Clinton stated once more that the status quo concerning Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict is inadmissible and noted the commitment of the new U.S. administration to solve the conflict soon.

Elmar Mammadyarov expressed his gratitude for the attention of the U.S. administration and noted that peace and stability can be ensured in the South Caucasus only due to the solution of the conflict within the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of its internationally recognized borders.

The sides expressed their satisfaction with the energy cooperation between the US and Azerbaijan, exchanged views on regional energy projects and underlined that Azerbaijan plays an important role in supplying the world markets with energy resources.

The sides also discussed security cooperation, repeal of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act, regional issues, democracy and human rights.
