Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. A Strategic Research Center under the President of Azerbaijan organized a round table on “Azerbaijan-UK relations in the context of contemporary regional geopolitics”, APA reports. US ambassador to Azerbaijan Carolyn Browne participated at the round table. The ambassador informed the participants about the priorities of UK foreign policy. She mentioned bilateral relations and said nearly 100 British companies were operating and nearly 3000 UK citizens were living in Azerbaijan. Ms. Browne said her country was interested in the Southern energy corridor. She also answered the question about UK’s view on Nabucco project and Iran’s participation there. She called Nabucco an ambitious project and said it would equal to expectations. The ambassador said Iran’s participation in this project would be impossible if this country didn’t clear its policy and make world community confidence in it. Iran’s nuclear program also causes concern in the world, said Browne. “The United Kingdom doesn’t support Iran’s nuclear program. We believe that the problem will be solved through the diplomatic efforts”.

Browne said they supported peaceful solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
