Vice-speaker of Russian parliament: â€œNagorno Karabakh is Armeniansâ€™ native territoryâ€

Baku â€“ APA. â€œNagorno Karabakh is Armeniansâ€™ native territory. Armenians always lived there. If we help return Nagorno Karabakh to Azerbaijan, there will be confrontation between Azerbaijan and Armenia again. Nagorno Karabakh Armenians do not want to live under Azerbaijanâ€™s rule. Negotiations may be held within 5-10 years, but in the end Nagorno Karabakh will be either united to Armenia or become an independent state. Both Nagorno Karabakh and Transdniestria should be recognized as independent states,â€ vice-speaker of Russian parliament, leader of Liberal-Democrat Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky said in his interview to RIA Novosti, APA reports. He considers that Russian Union should be established instead of CIS and Caucasus should be included into this union.

Analyzing Russia-Armenia relations, Zhirinovsky said Armenian political elite fears to lose Moscowâ€™s support, because Turkey and Azerbaijan may keep down Armenia.
â€œActually, a million and a half Armenians live in Armenia, there are over 8 million Azerbaijanis and 70 million Turks. How could one withstand them? Therefore Armenians always want to be in the military alliance with Russia, or they want to be bound with Russia. But in 1991 Armenians forced out Russians. Actually, there are no Russians there, but there are in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Central Asia. Armenians expelled all. It shows their attitude towards us. Their nationalism has ancient roots. Armenians are unhappy. They spent all their life in wars and were always defeated. They would have been died, if they had not asked help from Russia. We saved them,â€ he said.

Moscow should protect all, including Nagorno Karabakh Armenians, who run to the embrace of Russia.
