Ian Micallef meets with Deputy Minister of Justice Vilayat Zahirov

President a.i. of the Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (CLRA) Ian Micallef met with Deputy Justice Minister of Azerbaijan Vilayat Zahirov on Friday. Zahirov spoke about the large democratic changes in Azerbaijan, about the activity of municipalities and improvement of national legislation, press service of the Justice Ministry told APA.

Micallef said Azerbaijan showed strong political will in the development of cooperation with the Council of Europe Congress of Local and Regional Authorities. He said he witnessed sustainable economic progress in the country and positively valued the work done for the development of municipalities as a part of local democracy. The sides exchanged opinions about the issues of mutual interests. Micallef met with the Azerbaijani delegation to CLRA at the Center for Work with Municipalities.
