Issue on Azerbaijan not discussed in PACE Monitoring Committee

The issue on Azerbaijan has not been discussed at the meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Samad Seyidov, head of Azerbaijani parliament’s delegation to PACE, who attended the meeting of the Monitoring Committee in Paris on September 9, told APA. Samad Seyidov said the meeting was completely devoted to Russia-Georgia relations.
The parliamentarian said the discussions were tense:
“I do not remember such a meeting in the Monitoring Committee.”

Monaco’s commitments were also discussed at the meeting. There was no time to discuss the other issues on the agenda.

The agenda included parliamentary elections in Albania and Bulgaria, issues concerning Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.
“The co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan were to make a report at the meeting,” said Samd Seyidov.
He added that the agenda of the fall session was confirmed at the meeting of PACE Bureau in Paris on September 8.
“The issue on Azerbaijan has not been included into the agenda of the session,” he said.
