PACE announces autumn session’s preliminary agenda

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will hold its autumn session in Strasbourg from September 25 to October 2. According to PACE official website, there is no Azerbaijani issue in the preliminary agenda of autumn session, APA reports. PACE Bureau and permanent committees will hear reports of observation missions monitored parliamentary elections in Albania, Bulgaria and Moldova on the first day of session. The election of new Secretary General of the Council of Europe will take place on September 29 and if it is necessary it will develop on September 30. Polish Senator Vlodzimej Tymoshevic and Norway’s former Prime Minister Thorbjorn Jagland were nominated for the post of CE Secretary General.

PACE will hold hearing of reports “Russian-Georgian war: a year later”, Results of climate changes” and “Democratic institutions in Moldova” on September 29. Preliminary draft amendment to the European Convention on Human Rights will be discussed on September 30. PACE members will discuss the issues of human rights and freedom of conscience of non-Muslim minorities in Turkey and Thrace.
