President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov phoned to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev â€“ <font color=red>UPDATED </font>

Turkmen leader congratulated President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijani people on Holy Ramadan, press service of the Azerbaijani president told APA.

Azerbaijani leader thanked him and congratulated President Berdimuhammedov and Turkmen people on holiday.

The presidents exchanged opinion about the bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interests.

The heads of states emphasized that there are large opportunities for further strengthening of relations between the countries.

Press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said the presidents discussed the topical issues of bilateral cooperation and mutual interests, including the issues of upcoming informal meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Russia in Aktau, Kazakhstan. Berdimuhammedov invited Ilham Aliyev to the ceremony of Silk Road 2009 Rally final round. The ceremony will take place in Balkan region of Turkmenistan in first half of September. President of Azerbaijan accepted the invitation. The heads of states agreed to give appropriate instructions to the diplomatic services.
