Galatasaray defeated Erzurumspor in Turkish football championship match

Galatasaray defeated Erzurumspor 4-0 away in the second round of the Turkish Football Championship, APA reports.

The winning team's goals were scored by Roland Shallai (12th minute), Yunus Akgün (20) and Victor Osimhen (45, 79).

Galatasaray played its first match after signing Russian midfielder Alexei Batrakov to a five-year contract. The player did not play. On Friday, HT Spor reported that Batrakov had returned to training at Galatasaray's training center in Istanbul's Kemerburgaz district.

Galatasaray secured their first win of the season after drawing at home against Corum on the first matchday. The Istanbul club, the reigning Turkish champions, earned four points and topped the standings. Erzurumspor suffered their second consecutive defeat and sit bottom, 18th, with no points.

In the next round, Galatasaray will host Göztepe on August 29, while Erzurumspor will play Gençlerbirliği away the day before.
